Good morning everyone!
I'm so excited that the long awaited day is here. d*weekend 2019 kicks off tonight! Before you come, here are few details to help you make the most of your time at this weekend's retreat. I heard that some of you were running into issues when trying to access the form that was sent to you in the confirmation email of your registration. In light of this, I've uploaded the information sheet to the homepage of www.richforkstudents.com. That document has our final schedule, packing list, and rules for the weekend on it. Be sure to check it out!
The first session will start at 7:00 tonight. Because of the number of people we are expecting, I'd encourage you to arrive to check-in closer to 6:00. We will have plenty of fun things to do in the lobby so I promise your student will not be bored for that hour. When you come in the MPB lobby, come to the back of the room where you'll see signs about checking in. After we get you checked in, then someone will show you where to put your luggage. If you have any questions at all, there will be a team of us in white shirts and orange lanyards ready to help! And remember to have your student eat a big dinner BEFORE coming tonight. There will be snacks at their host homes AFTER the session which will be later around 9:00 or 10:00.
If you are missing any specific information about where your student is staying this weekend and who their youth workers are, etc., don't hesitate to reach out and let me know. I'm here to help and answer any questions you have! My main goal is for everyone involved in this weekend to arrive feeling completely comfortable with everything. It is going to be a great weekend!
As I've encouraged you before, parents, please do your best to let your student be free from distraction this weekend. Youth workers will be encouraged to collect cell phones when at host homes so that the heart of the weekend can be uninterrupted. That means don't text your student every hour to make sure they're ok! I promise they will be well taken care of this weekend and if they need you at all, they will contact you.
I covet your prayers over us for the weekend. I am expecting God to do some incredible work in the lives of our students. Please pray that God will guard the hearts and minds of the students in attendance.
Really do let me know if you need anything from me between now and tonight! Thanks for entrusting us with your kids this weekend!
