Good afternoon parents and students!
The main purpose of this post is to let you know that registration is now open for our brand new event called REFLECT which is coming up April 27-29 at Mt Shepherd Retreat Center. This event is for 7th-12th grade boys only. I hope to have something similar to this for our girls next semester. I had originally planned to do an event simultaneously for girls for the April dates but decided to postpone it for several reasons. If you would like more details on why it was postponed, feel free to reply to this email and ask.
The heart behind REFLECT is to teach our boys what it means to be a real man according to Scripture. Our society has skewed our view of manhood. A real man is a loving leader, a hard-working provider, and a courageous protector. This weekend away will be all about Biblical manhood and what it looks like in 2018. The moon logo is on purpose as well. Sometimes we forget that the moon has no light on its own. If we took away the sun, even the full moon on a cloudless night would not shine. The moon reflects light from the sun. My desire for our students is that they shine like the moon. That in the darkness, they reflect the SON so brightly that it casts light in the shadows. I am so excited to start this new event and see the way that God works in the lives of our students.
The cost for this weekend is $50. We will spend Friday and Saturday night at Mt Shepherd Retreat Center in Asheboro returning to Rich Fork on Sunday by 12:00 p.m. If you have any questions about this event, please don't hesitate to ask. A schedule and list of what to bring is provided to you after you register. There is one form that Mt Shepherd requires. Please print it out, fill it out, and return it to me. If you're ready to get your boy(s) registered, go to the EVENTS tab.
Thanks, as always, for trusting me with the privilege and responsibility of ministering to your student(s). I never take it lightly.
